Add an MX record
All DNS records are added to your domain on the advanced DNS page. To add a MX Record you will need the host, priority, and mail host information. Your email provider will give you this information.
Note: A domain can only use one email service at a time. For example, you can use Google email or Professional email on a domain, but you can't use both email services on the same domain.
- Log in to your get.realtor account.
- Go to My Domains page.
- Click the Manage Domain button for the domain you want to add DNS records.
- Select the Advanced DNS tab.
- Click the Add DNS Record button.
- Choose MX Record from the Record Type drop down list.
- Enter the details for your MX record:
- Host: The domain or subdomain for the MX record. Most mail servers will use @ for the host, but you can also use a subdomain, such as www or mail.
- Priority: The order in which the record is evaluated and used. Lower priorities will be read before higher priorities.
- Mail Host: The mail server's address.
- Time To Live (TTL): How long the server should cache information. The default setting is 30 minutes.
- Select Save Record to save your new MX Record.
Please allow up to 48 hours for your DNS changes to take full effect globally.
